Ebru · Paper Marbling
Float colour on water, then lift it onto paper. One unrepeatable sheet at a time.
Painting on water
Ebru is the centuries-old art of marbling: pigments are scattered and drawn across a bath of thickened water, teased into swirls, flowers and combed patterns, then captured in a single press of a sheet of paper. The design forms on the surface and transfers all at once.
Because the colour lives on moving water, no two sheets are ever the same. Guided by the artist, you make several prints and take every one of them home.
Beauty, and a little letting go
Instantly calming
Watching colour bloom and drift on the water is quietly hypnotic. The whole room slows down within minutes.
The art of letting go
You guide the pattern, but you never fully control it, a gentle lesson in working with the unexpected rather than against it.
Beautiful, every time
Marbling rewards beginners immediately. Your very first sheet already looks like something worth framing.
